MDS Monday challenged us to put a photo in "grouped photo boxes" and then as a twist to leave one part colored and make the rest black and white.  Then offset the colored part to make it stand out.  Here is my sweet granddaughter playing with one of her stuffed animals.

MDS Monday is all about family this week.  I am so thankful we got this photo when we did because my mother passed away less than 3 months after this was taken.

Pixel Maven had a color challenge this week using baked brown sugar, blushing bride and pool party.  Great colors for these pics of my granddaughter having a watermelon snack with Papaw.

The challenge for this week at MDS Monday is to use the hombre effect somewhere on your project.  My photo was taken back in January when we had "all that snow!"

PMDC-08 Card

I find it much harder to create cards than layouts in MDS.  But I liked the sketch for Pixel Maven's Digi Challenge this week and gave it a try.   Between the stars and the sample on the challenge page, I couldn't get my mind away from patriotic and with Independence Day coming up way too fast I went with that.  Maybe I will try to do another kind of card, also!

When the Fourth of July rolls around it means summer vacation is half over or very close to it.  But this is my last "summer vacation" as I am retiring at the end of the school year.

Thanks for stopping by!
